“…He was almost too sleepy to think anymore.

Then he looked beyond the thornbushes, out into the big dark night.

Nothing could be further than the sky.

“I love you right up to the moon,” he said, and closed his eyes…”

     Sam McBratney. 1994.

“The sosial pain, I feet in my chest, in my head, I feel in my body. I am not an addball, nor a weirdo. Nevewrtheless, I sometimes do things that people perceive as strange.

I am not depressed, neither self destructive. I am alone. Sometimes I am invisible; no one listens to what I have to say.

If I could simply explain. Explain how it feels always having to take on a character, as if belonging on this planet.

If I could simply explain how it feels to let myself become a damn machine, to let my heart turn into stone. At  first one tries to do good. When that dosen’t work, one turns to evil.”

In this choreography we see two dancers trapped in a matrix created for them. There is no way in, neither out. The matrix winds and hangs somewhere between real life and the great black universe. Reality begins to be unreal, algorithms are taking over, viruses are implanted and the matrix’s black and green colors are hypnotising.

A choreography in which we want to explore the possibilities of implementing and translating today’s science into the dancer’s body.

Also a project in which we aim to explore the strength of humanity and our ability to adapt to technology and automation without losing our key goal; love for life.

When does the undetectable become perceptible, the invisible visible and the non-existent real? Framed Reality is a contemporary dance work created by a collaboration between a sound designer, a video/visual artist and six dance artists. It explores the interfaces between reality and virtual worlds – creating new dimensions from them.  The immersive work invites the viewer to dive into the unknown.
