One week ago I started working on a new performance named “Katso! Katso mua!” (Look! Look at me!) I work on the theme of relationships between parents and children. How does this connection affect our lives? What acting patterns do we learn from childhood/youth?? What do we have to do to “grow up”?
Real stories of friends inspired me to research the subject and make a dance performance, in which the audience can find similar features of their own lifes and reflect on them. The storyline of this piece combined with dance, sound and lights will build an emotional atmosphere.
The language of contemporary dance movement is the main expression element. Besides dance I will use dialogs and poems. The performance dramaturgy is based on interviews with different people and Kimmo Takanens book Tunne lukkosi/ vapaudu tunteiden vallasta.
